LISTEN to the Chapter
Before I knew it, the first year of my life had flown by. My true Mud to Mansion story was in the making. In just one year, I'd gotten myself a cool name, a summer and a winter home, my own treat jar, the first stamp in my kitty passport, my own hashtag (#VAN-DALIZED), my first Stew Friday, and that stupid green collar. It was time for my first birthday, and of course, Andrea was throwing me a party. And just like the other holidays, she had a hat for me. Rolling my eyes, I thought, "why is this girl so attached to hats?" I put it on after I realized that hat was the only thing standing between me and my “tuna” cake.
I had never had a birthday party before, but I learned they are exhausting. Between the cake, the presents, and all the singing, I was tuckered out, a real party animal. See photo below.
I’m glad birthdays only come once a year, this was a lot of excitement for me. My days are normally calm and relaxing with naps, snacks and bird watching. But I did get a really big present. I mean really big. A present fit for a king.
Want to know what it was? I’m saving it for the next chapter because this present was so big; it was one of those things that changed my life and deserves its own chapter.
Stay tuned….
